Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

A.CoolSculpting is a fat reduction procedure that targets unwanted bulges of subcutaneous fat cells (adipose stored in your skin) that have proven to be resistant to a healthy lifestyle. In essence, CoolSculpting is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction at a fraction of the cost.

Ultimately, only a qualified healthcare professional can determine if you are good candidate for the CoolSculpting procedure by evaluating your individual circumstances. Therefore, you will need to schedule a consultation at a Dr. Freeze center to determine if CoolSculpting is right for you.

Note: It is important to know that CoolSculpting is NOT a weight loss solution for those that are obese. In fact, by itself CoolSculpting does NOT result in significant weight reduction. Therefore, if you are overweight or obese we recommend combining CoolSculpting with a medical weight loss program to experience a more complete, dramatic transformation.

Q.What makes Dr. Freeze different than other CoolSculpting providers?

A.Unlike most other practices that offer CoolSculpting, Dr. Freeze ONLY focuses on providing CoolSculpting. Why is that important? Well other practices often use CoolSculpting as a “hook” to bring people into their offices, and then they try to upsell patients with other alternatives. Some of these alternatives are NOT as effective as CoolSculpting, and the surgical options are certainly riskier undertakings.

Since Dr. Freeze is COOLSCULPTING EXPERT, we are NOT going to promote any other body sculpting or fat reduction treatment.

Furthermore, thanks to our focus on CoolSculpting, Dr. Freeze has a higher degree of experience with freezing fat and a proven track record getting solid results for our patients.

Another factor that sets Dr. Freeze apart is our state-of-the-art treatment rooms. To make your CoolSculpting experience as pleasant as possible, Dr. Freeze has spacious treatment rooms that contain a variety of amenities. From extensive movie collections and streaming services to calming aromatherapy and gourmet coffee, we do everything possible to make killing fat cells a fun and relaxing experience.

Certain Dr. Freeze centers are also Hyper Sculpting™ certified. Hyper Sculpting is an advanced form of body sculpting which combines CoolAdvantage technology with Lipo Edge™, which supports weight loss efforts and the metabolism of dead fat cells.

Finally, Dr. Freeze’s proprietary CoolSculpting treatment packages are designed to kill 40% of targeted fat cells. That is considerably more than the 20 to 25% reduction that typically occurs after only one round of CoolSculpting. Patients who purchase Dr. Freeze packages tend to be happier with their CoolSculpting results. [1][2][4][5].

Q.Why are Dr. Freeze’s proprietary CoolSculpting packages so popular?

A.At Dr. Freeze, we know that each person’s body sculpting needs are unique. That is why we have created a variety of treatment packages to help reduced unwanted fat practically anywhere.* Our packages have two key components that make them more attractive than individual CoolSculpting treatments:

Almost double the fat reduction - Dr. Freeze’s CoolSculpting packages include two rounds of treatment for each targeted area. With a second round of treatment on the same area, patients can expect a 40% reduction of targeted subcutaneous fat – that is close to twice the 20 to 25% reduction you get with a single round of CoolSculpting. Our patients love the additional reduction our packages offer, because the fact is nobody wants to kill just 20% of their unwanted fat when a more dramatic 40% reduction is possible. [1][2][4][5]

Lower cost – Dr. Freeze packages offer patients the best price per CoolSculpting cycle with 25% OFF the standard price of $800/cycle. Our packages are the most cost-effective way to get the CoolSculpting results you desire and when you buy multiple packages your price per treatment cycle can become even lower.

For these reasons, over 80% of our patients choose to purchase Dr. Freeze packages instead of individual CoolSculpting treatments.

*Note: In the U.S., the CoolSculpting procedure is FDA-cleared [1] for the treatment of visible fat bulges in the submental area (under the chin), abdomen, flanks (love handles), and thighs, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as the banana roll), and the upper arm.

Q.How much does CoolSculpting cost?

A.CoolSculpting is frequently marketed for $600. This can be misleading and we want to set the record straight. Six hundred dollars per treatment cycle is a very competitive price for CoolSculpting (its 25% OFF our standard price of $800/cycle), but you need at least 2 treatments to symmetrically target both sides of your body (e.g. treating your left and right thighs requires 2 cycles). Furthermore, a single round of treatment only gets you a 20-25% reduction in fat cells. Therefore, most patients elect to have a second round of treatments for more noticeable results.

Based on these facts, Dr. Freeze has created CoolSculpting treatment packages that are designed to get people the results they want at a reasonable price point. The price for these packages starts at $2,400 for each area you want to target. For example, if you want slimmer arms then take a look at Dr. Freeze’s Guns of Steel™ package that includes 4 arm treatments for $2,400. On the other hand, if you want to target belly fat you should consider our Diamond Abs™ package which offers you 8 treatment cycles for $4,800.

Educated consumers consider our packages to be an attractive option when compared to alternatives such as liposuction or plastic surgery, because these surgical options can cost two or even three times more to target similar areas of the body.

Q.How long is each treatment?

A.The length of each CoolSculpting treatment (aka a “cycle”) can range from 35 to 60 minutes depending on the type of applicator being used. Sometimes you may be able to receive multiple treatments simultaneously, and in a single day we can target multiple areas. In between each treatment cycle you can take a short break to use the restroom or grab lunch.

Q.How many treatments will I need?

A.The number of treatments needed to achieve your specific goals will vary depending on (i) the areas you want to target, and the (ii) percentage of fat cells you want to eliminate from those areas. First, each area you want to target has both a left and right side (e.g. left and right arms, left and right love handles, etc.). Therefore, each area you want to target will require at least 2 CoolSculpting treatments cycles (one for the left side and one for the right). Also, keep in mind that the first round of treatments gets you a 20-25% reduction in fat cells from the targeted site, whereas a second round of treatments reduces about 40% of the initial fat cells from the targeted site. Since most people prefer the more noticeable 40% reduction in fat cells, they purchase 2 rounds of treatment (4 cycles total – 2 for each side) for each part of their body they want to target. Doing the math, with each standard CoolSculpting cycle costing at least $600, its costs about $2,400 (600 x 4) to reduce 40% of subcutaneous fat cells from a targeted area. This is only a fraction of the cost to get liposuction, which makes Dr. Freeze the ideal option for most patients. [1][2][4][5]

Q.Where does the dead fat go? Will the killed fat cells come back?

A.With each CoolSculpting treatment 20 to 25% of the targeted fat cells die. In the weeks and months following the procedure these dead fat cells shrink and disintegrate. Eventually, the remnants of this process are naturally metabolized and removed from the body (NOT as fat cells, but as a byproduct of the body’s natural ability to absorb and metabolize dead cells). This entire process takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks, but can continue for as long as 16 weeks after the treatment. [2][3][4][5][6][8][9]

Q.Can I accelerate my CoolSculpting results?

A.If recommended by our medical professionals, Dr. Freeze patients can opt to add a limited course of Lipo Edge™ injections to their CoolSculpting treatment plan. These injections (aka Metabolic Optimizers™) provide a potent blend of purified nutrients that support weight loss and the metabolism of the frozen fat cells. Some patients report noticeable fat reduction well before 8 to 12 weeks when they add Lipo Edge to their CoolSculpting treatment plan. Combining CoolSculpting with Metabolic Optimizers is called Hyper Sculpting™ and it is worth noting, that Dr. Freeze is one of the only Hyper Sculpting certified providers in the U.S.

Q.What does the CoolSculpting treatment feel like?

A.At the beginning of the treatment a cold gel pad is placed over the skin. Next the treatment applicator is placed on the target area and the treatment begins. With certain applicators you will feel some pulling as suction is applied. For the first few minutes of the treatment, you typically feel intense cold. This feeling soon dissipates as the targeted skin becomes numb 5 to 10 minutes after the treatment commences. Many patients read, watch videos, use their mobile device or even take a little siesta during their treatment.

At the conclusion of the treatment, the targeted skin is massage for 2 to 3 minutes. This massage is intended to improve your fat reduction results, but it can be accompanied with some discomfort and tingling. Fortunately, it only lasts a few minutes. After their treatments, patients are usually able to return to normal activities immediately with NO downtime or limitations. It’s that easy… and that is why one of our slogans is: “Dr. Freeze is a Breeze!” [2][3][4][5][6][8][9]

Q.Who should NOT have CoolSculpting?

A.The CoolSculpting procedure is NOT for everyone. You should NOT have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.
